| 裏面の説明 | The reverse presents a high-relief depiction of a Flying Apsara — a celestial musician derived from the mural art of the Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes — shown in dynamic flight against a polished black field. The figure is adorned in elaborate traditional drapery with long flowing scarves billowing in graceful curves around her body, conveying movement and ethereal grace. She holds a lusheng, a traditional Chinese reed wind instrument, raised to her lips in a playing posture. Chinese characters 飞天乐伎 笙 are inscribed to the upper left of the field, identifying the subject. The bilingual English legend FLYING APSARAS / PLAYING THE LUSHENG appears along the lower left margin. |
