The legend REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE arcs around the upper periphery, with the date 1919 prominently displayed in the exergue below a ground line, and the engraver's name BARRE incuse beneath the figure. The design is framed by a continuous beaded border.

Descrizione del rovescio	The denomination 20 CENT. appears in two lines at the centre of the field, enclosed within a decorative wreath composed of laurel and oak branches tied with a ribbon bow at the base. The circular legend INDO-CHINE FRANÇAISE arcs around the upper periphery, while the fineness and weight specification TITRE 0,835. POIDS 5 GR.4 runs along the lower border. A counterstamped fineness mark 0,664 is punched into the left field within the wreath, indicating the altered silver purity of this pattern. The whole is contained within a beaded border.
