Obverse description The full Jamaican coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield charged with five golden pineapples on a black cross, surmounted by a crocodile passant upon a royal helmet and mantling. Two Taino figures serve as supporters on either side: a female figure to the left bearing a basket of fruit and a male figure to the right holding a spear. A scroll below bears the national motto in the legend. The country name JAMAICA appears as an arc in the upper legend and the date 1977 is positioned in the lower field, with the Franklin Mint mark below the shield.
