| Beschrijving voorzijde | Within a beaded circle, the right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after Ian Rank-Broadley, with the Samoa coat of arms depicted below. Surrounding the central circle, the field bears silhouettes of all dinosaur subjects from the series in low relief, with the silhouette corresponding to the Mamenchisaurus selectively gold-plated to distinguish it as the subject of this particular issue. The legends ELIZABETH II, SAMOA, and 20 CENTS appear around the design. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Mamenchisaurus, a sauropod genus first described in 1954 from construction excavations along the Yangtze River, is notable for possessing one of the longest necks relative to body length of any known dinosaur — in some species comprising more than half the total body length. Samoa has issued a consistent run of natural history-themed collector pieces aimed squarely at the novelty end of the numismatic market, and this copper partially gilt issue fits that pattern precisely.
