Issued to mark the centenary of the Royal Australian Navy's involvement in World War I, specifically the 1914 seizure of German New Guinea — one of the first Allied offensive operations of the war. The RAN's contribution to that campaign is rarely discussed alongside Gallipoli, but it preceded the Dardanelles by nearly a year.
