Reverse description The reverse, designed by Lisa Murphy, features Sturt's Desert Pea (Swainsona formosa), the floral emblem of South Australia, rendered in fine detail on the left side of the field, with its distinctive drooping leaves and elongated flowers prominently displayed. A stylised outback landscape horizon sweeps across the middle ground, evoking the arid plains of the state. The five stars of the Southern Cross constellation are positioned in the upper field against a darkened background. The denomination 20 CENTS appears in large numerals and lettering at centre and base, while the engraver's initials LM are inscribed at lower left. The arc legends CENTENARY OF FEDERATION and SOUTH AUSTRALIA curve along the upper periphery.
