Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse bears the fourth portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, as modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley. The Queen is depicted wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, with her hair arranged in curled waves beneath. The peripheral legend reads ELIZABETH II to the upper left and AUSTRALIA 2011 to the right, all in raised Latin characters. The designer's initials IRB appear in small relief below the truncation of the neck. The field is polished and deeply struck, giving the portrait strong sculptural relief.

Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse features a central hub-and-spoke wheel design dividing the field into four radiating triangular segments, each depicting a distinct stage of the Australian wool industry: a shorn sheep at upper left, a close-up of a Merino ram's head at upper centre, woven wool textile fabric at upper right, stacked wool bales with a wagon at lower left, a mound of raw shorn fleece at lower centre, and the denomination numeral 20 at lower right. The circular peripheral legend RIDING ON THE SHEEP'S BACK arcs across the upper field, while AUSTRALIAN WOOL appears along the lower border. The design was engraved by Vladimir Gottwald and celebrates Australia's historic wool industry.
