| Obverse description | The second portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as modelled by Arnold Machin, faces right wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The truncated, draped bust is rendered in high relief with fine detail in the hair and diadem. The legend 'ELIZABETH II' arcs along the upper left field, while 'FIJI' and the date appear along the right field. The design is characterised by the naturalistic, elegant style typical of Machin's celebrated portrait. |
