| Beschrijving keerzijde | A coloured commemorative design honouring Australian service in North Africa and the Middle East during the Second World War. The composition features three military elements: HMAS Stuart, the Royal Australian Navy destroyer that participated in the evacuation of Crete, rendered at sea; a Hawker Hurricane aircraft representing the Royal Australian Air Force; and an Ordnance QF 25-pounder artillery gun representing the Australian Army. The background field is decorated with a geometric tile pattern inspired by traditional North African and Middle Eastern decorative arts, with colour printing derived from the palette of campaign medals awarded for service in these theatres.
