Struck to mark the first full calendar year of Charles III coinage production at the Royal Australian Mint following the transition from Elizabeth II effigies, this piece uses the Obverse 1 portrait by Martin Jennings — the same sculptor whose full-length bronze of Philip Larkin stands outside Hull railway station. The portrait was adopted by Commonwealth realms on a staggered schedule, with Australia among the earlier adopters.
