| Obverse description | The South African coat of arms is depicted centrally in the field, featuring a shield supported by two human figures, surmounted by a secretary bird with outstretched wings and a protea flower at its breast, with crossed elephant tusks below and a sprig of wheat on either side. The motto ribbon at the base of the arms bears the inscription in the Khoisan language.
