Tropical vegetation rises at lower left, with a lightning bolt visible at lower right. The engraver's name BARRE appears incuse in the lower exergual border. The surrounding legend REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE arcs along the upper periphery within a beaded border, and the date appears prominently in the exergue. |

The mint mark A appears in small characters at the lower centre of the field within the wreath. The circular legend, reading INDO-CHINE FRANÇAISE at the top and TITRE 0.900 POIDS 5 GR.4 along the lower arc, provides the fineness and weight specifications. The design is contained within a beaded border. |
