| 备注 |
During the Spanish Civil War, the breakdown of the national coin supply pushed hundreds of local entities — trade unions, municipalities, cooperatives — into improvised currency production. This note was issued by the Torrevieja branch of the hospitality workers' union, a body representing waiters, hotel staff, and related trades. That a labour union in a small coastal salt-town was printing its own fractional currency speaks directly to how completely the monetary infrastructure had collapsed in Republican-held territory by mid-1937.
The thick card stock was typical of hasty local issues where engraved printing was unavailable. A stamped security feature was the only authentication measure — easily forged, but rarely worth the effort at 20 céntimos.
