Additional information

1975 was the year Mozambique achieved independence from Portugal after a decade of armed conflict led by FRELIMO. This coin was issued in that transitional moment, before the new government had fully established its own monetary identity — early post-independence Mozambican coinage retained practical continuity with colonial-era denominations while shedding Portuguese iconography.

KM#94 is a one-year type, replaced as FRELIMO's socialist economic program reshaped the currency system through the late 1970s.
