Obverse description The Bolivian national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting an oval shield with a llama, mountain, and rising sun, surmounted by a condor with outstretched wings. The shield is flanked by crossed flags, cannons, and fasces, rendered in fine relief characteristic of a proof pattern strike. The curved legend REPUBLICA BOLIVIANA arcs along the upper periphery, divided on either side of the central device. Nine five-pointed stars are arranged in a row along the lower border beneath the arms.
