| Additional information |
Argentina's shift to copper-nickel for this denomination in 1951 came under Perón's economic nationalism program, which prioritized domestic industrial capacity over imported raw materials. The non-magnetic composition distinguishes this type from the steel-core issues that followed almost immediately, as raw material pressures forced yet another reformulation within just a few years — making the copper-nickel window exceptionally short.
The reeded edge further separates this from transitional variants in the series. Two-year types from this period in Argentine coinage are routinely undervalued relative to their actual scarcity in unworn condition.
