Obverse description A defiant Andean condor perched atop a rocky outcrop, facing left with wings partially spread in a display posture. The bird is rendered in fine high-relief detail, with individual feathers carefully delineated across the wings and body. The legend REPUBLICA DE CHILE arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin letters, with the engraver's signature O. Roty incused in small characters at the base of the rock. The entire design is surrounded by a continuous beaded border. The composition reflects the refined medallic style of French engraver Louis-Oscar Roty.
