| 正面描述 | The quartered arms of Portuguese Angola occupy the central field, incorporating the Portuguese royal escutcheon with five bezants and the armillary sphere of Angola, surmounted by a mural crown. The shield is rendered in bold relief against a plain field. The circular legend reads COLONIA DE ANGOLA, separated by dot stops, and arcs around the upper portion of the coin. The date of issue appears in large numerals at the base of the design, flanked by small ornamental stops. The entire design is bounded by a toothed inner border following the coin's milled rim. |

| 背面描述 | The large numeral '20' dominates the central field in bold relief, with the word CENTAVOS inscribed in a straight line immediately below in smaller lettering. The circular legend REPÚBLICA PORTUGUESA arcs around the upper and lateral periphery, separated by a raised dot stop at the top. A small mintmark device appears at the base of the design. The entire composition is enclosed within a toothed inner border that follows the milled rim of the coin, imparting a clean, uncluttered typographic character to the reverse. |

Angola remained under Portuguese colonial administration throughout this period, and its subsidiary bronze coinage was struck at the Casa da Moeda in Lisbon rather than in the colony itself. The late 1940s issues coincided with Salazar's Estado Novo regime tightening economic control over Portuguese overseas territories, standardizing colonial currency formats across Angola, Mozambique, and Guinea simultaneously.
