备注	By 1942, Culion had been operating its own internal currency for decades — a deliberate policy of economic quarantine as much as medical. The colony's scrip prevented lepers from using Philippine national currency, which could not then be returned to general circulation. This particular issue is notable for its wartime timing: the Japanese occupation disrupted the Bureau of Health's administrative control, and the 1942 series was produced under circumstances that remain only partially documented. Culion leper colony scrip is among the most historically specific local currency ever produced in Southeast Asia. Survivorship is low — the notes rarely left the island.
