A cornucopia and a quiver of arrows flank the shield on either side. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE HONDURAS arcs along the upper periphery, while the date appears prominently in the lower field. A fine dentilated border frames the entire design.

The 1931–1958 date range on KM#73 is therefore misleading as a production indicator — actual striking years were sparse, and some dates within that span were not issued at all.
