| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central round hole encircled by a raised ring, surrounded by a densely decorated field featuring radiating geometric and foliate motifs. The denomination legend VEINTE CENTAVOS arcs around the upper portion of the field, while the numeral 20 appears in large raised figures at the lower center, all rendered in a bold, stylized manner characteristic of pattern coinage of the period. |

KM#Pn50 designates this as a pattern strike, not a circulation issue — Chile was actively retooling its coinage system in the late 1920s following the 1925 monetary reform that abolished the peso-based system in favor of the new peso tied to gold. Pattern pieces from this transitional period were produced to test designs and compositions before final authorization, and most never advanced beyond the assay office.
Copper-nickel was being evaluated as a replacement for the older cupro-nickel and silver minor coinage. Few examples of this specific pattern are documented in major collections.
