| Opis awersu | The obverse displays the Venezuelan national coat of arms at centre, consisting of a quartered shield bearing a sheaf of wheat, crossed weapons and flags, and a galloping horse in the lower quarter, flanked by an olive branch to the left and a palm frond to the right. Two scrolled ribbons below the shield bear the independence dates '19 DE ABRIL 1810' and '5 DE JULIO 1811', with a further scroll at the base inscribed 'LIBERTAD'. An abundant cornucopia of tropical fruits and foliage crowns the shield. The circular legend '•ESTADOS UNIDOS DE VENEZUELA•' arcs along the upper periphery within a beaded border, while the lower field carries the inscriptions 'GRAM,5', the date '1874', and 'LEI 835' separated by raised dots. |
