| Obverse description | Central device depicts a condor with wings displayed, standing upon a rocky promontory and clutching a shield with its talons, rendered in fine detail with feathering carefully delineated. Two five-pointed stars flank the date 1867 in the lower field, one to each side. The circular legend POR LA RAZON O LA FUERZA arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin lettering. The coin's border is defined by a continuous ring of fine milling or beading. The overall composition reflects the standard Chilean republican heraldic style of the mid-nineteenth century. |
