| Obverse description | The obverse features a stylized flat profile effigy of King Carl XVI Gustaf facing left, occupying the left half of the field, with the date 2003 inscribed vertically along the left rim. The right half of the field bears a granulated background upon which a detailed royal crown is depicted in the center. The country name SVERIGE arcs along the upper right rim, while the trilingual trial inscription PRØVE · PROV · · MUSTER curves along the lower right periphery. Twelve five-pointed stars encircle the entire design, consistent with the standard European Union coinage border motif. |
