Aanvullende informatie

Vatican coinage in 2011 fell under the sede vacante provisions following no papal death — Benedict XVI was still reigning — meaning this issue bears his portrait and was struck under normal papal authority. Euro-series Vatican coins have been produced in strictly limited quantities since 2002, distributed almost exclusively through the Vatican Philatelic and Numismatic Office, which means the overwhelming majority of surviving examples have never seen a cash register.
