| Descrizione del dritto | Cast brass coin featuring four Chinese characters arranged in the traditional cross pattern around a central square hole. Reading top-to-bottom and right-to-left, the characters read 咸豐重寶 (Xianfeng Zhongbao), identifying the reign period of the Xianfeng Emperor and denoting this as 'heavy currency.' The characters are rendered in regular script (kaishu) in raised relief, set within a plain field bounded by an inner and outer rim. The composition and casting style are typical of mid-nineteenth-century Qing dynasty imperial coinage. |

Two vertical Manchu characters (ᠪᠣᠣ ᡶᡠ, 'Boo-fu') flank the hole left and right, identifying the Fuzhou mint. A single Chinese character appears above the hole and one below, while four additional Chinese characters are placed in the four corners of the field, reading '計重一兩二十' (Calculated weight: 1 Liang / 20 Cash), indicating the coin's denomination and nominal weight. All inscriptions are cast in raised relief in regular script and Manchu script respectively, within plain inner and outer rims. |
