| Obverse description | Central field features a stylized lotus flower and bud motif flanked by two symmetrical sprays of grain or millet, all enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The Chinese legend reads 中華民國 (Republic of China) along the upper periphery, with 當制錢二十文 (Worth 20 Cash, copper coin) arranged along the lower periphery and sides. Small decorative rosettes appear at the left and right of the inner circle. The overall design is executed in low relief characteristic of provincial Republican-era coinage. |

| Reverse description | Two crossed flags occupy the central field: at left, the five-colored flag of the Republic of China, and at right, the eighteen-star Hubei military flag, their staffs bound together at center with tassels hanging below. Decorative scrollwork and floral ornaments appear to the left and right of the flag design. The Latin legend HO-NAN arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 20 CASH is inscribed in a straight line along the lower periphery. The entire design is rendered in low relief on a plain field. |
