| Opmerkingen |
Bolivia's 1929 monetary reform consolidated several regional and private banks under the newly established Banco Central, but the transition left a practical problem: existing stock of notes from predecessor institutions needed to remain in circulation while permanent designs were prepared. This issue resolved that gap through overprinting — old plates, new authority. The American Bank Note Company handled the work, as it had for most of Bolivia's currency printing throughout the early twentieth century.
The multiple signature combinations across series B through D reflect staff changes within the Banco Central's early administrative structure, not separate emission events. Granier and Palacios appear across all three series; Cuenca replaced Detlefsen from series C onward.
