Descrizione del dritto	The obverse features a stylized ovoid form at the centre of the field, rendered in satin finish against a polished proof background, evoking the shape of a seed or egg and symbolising the dawn of a new millennium. A decorative ribbon banner wraps around the lower portion of the central motif. To the left and right of the central design appear two identical crowned Ethiopian lion emblems, each accompanied by the denomination expressed as '·ብር· 20' in Ge'ez script to the left and 'Birr 20' in Latin script to the right. The upper legend in Ge'ez reads 'የኢትዮጵያ ሚሌኒየም ጽዋዕ', and the lower field carries the Latin inscriptions 'Ethiopian Millennium' and '2000', the latter denoting the Ethiopian calendar year.
