Beschrijving keerzijde Central pellet-in-annulet device at the center of the field, flanked by two stylized rose ornaments at the lower left and right. The denomination 20 BANI is inscribed across the upper portion of the field in large raised Latin letters, with the date 1905 below in similarly bold numerals. The overall design is stark and unadorned, consistent with a pattern or piefort trial strike.

Aanvullende informatie

Romania's 1905 aluminum pattern coinage was part of a broader renegotiation of the country's monetary infrastructure following its formal independence from Ottoman suzerainty and subsequent establishment of the leu system. Pattern pieces in aluminum from this period were typically struck to evaluate whether the lighter metal could replace the nickel then in use for small denominations — a cost-driven experiment that never advanced to circulation. The aluminum trials were ultimately rejected.
