The quartered shield displays a sword and rifle in the upper quarters, a shovel and pickaxe in the lower left, and a cornucopia in the lower right, surmounted by an eagle with wings spread and a star-studded arc above. The arms are flanked by furled flags and set within a broad dark annular border bearing the country name legend arching across the upper portion and the denomination inscribed along the lower rim.

附加信息	Panama's 20 Balboa series has long been the country's vehicle for high-denomination commemorative silver, a tradition stretching back to the massive 1970s issues struck by Franklin Mint. This 2019 entry takes its name from the Santa María, the carrack that served as Columbus's flagship on the 1492 crossing — the vessel ran aground on the Haitian coast on Christmas Day of that year and was never recovered, her timbers reportedly used to construct the first European fort in the Americas, La Navidad.
