| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Panama is prominently centered in the field, depicting a quartered shield featuring crossed swords and rifles, the Isthmus of Panama with ships on both oceans, a cornucopia, and a winged caduceus, surmounted by an eagle with wings spread and flanked by nine stars arranged in an arc above.
