Issued to mark the centenary of the Siriraj Orthopaedics department at Siriraj Hospital — Thailand's oldest and largest public hospital, founded in 1888 on the Chao Phraya riverbank by order of Rama V. The commemorative 20 Baht series has become the Royal Thai Mint's primary vehicle for institutional anniversaries, with dozens of types issued across the past two decades, making individual examples modestly collectible but rarely scarce.
