附加信息

Rama VIII — King Ananda Mahidol — was only 20 years old and still completing his studies in Switzerland when this note was issued. He had spent most of his life outside Thailand and was largely a figurehead during one of the country's most turbulent occupations. Japanese forces had effectively controlled the country since December 1941, and the Thai economy had been severely strained by forced loans and military requisitioning throughout the war years.

The king was found dead from a gunshot wound in his bedroom on June 9, 1946 — circumstances never officially resolved.
