Vajiravudh College was founded in 1910 by King Rama VI — himself an alumnus of Eton and Christ Church, Oxford — and modeled explicitly on the English public school system, complete with houses, uniforms, and an emphasis on loyalty to crown and nation. This coin marks the institution's centenary. The college remains one of the most socially exclusive secondary schools in Thailand, with alumni networks extending deep into the military and civil service.
