Series 15 represented a significant internal transition for the Bank of Thailand's note program — by 2003, the NPW in Bangkok had been refining intaglio production for over three decades, and the 20 Baht denomination in this series was among the higher-volume workhorse notes in daily circulation, replacing polymer experiments that had been trialled on lower denominations in neighboring countries but never adopted here.
