正面描述 Helmeted head of Athena facing right, rendered in profile with the goddess wearing a Corinthian-style helmet pushed back on the head. The hair is visible beneath the helmet brow, and the facial features display the characteristic Hellenistic style of the late Republican period. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show typical patination of a struck bronze issue from Mysia.

附加信息

Miletopolis, a small city in Mysia near the Propontis, produced bronze civic coinage during a period when the region cycled through Pergamene, then Roman, administrative control following the bequest of the Attalid kingdom in 133 BC. The city retained enough autonomy to issue its own bronzes under Roman provincial arrangements, a common concession Rome made to keep Greek civic institutions nominally functional.

The SNG Copenhagen 250 reference places this squarely within the civic bronze series documented from the region, though Miletopolis issues remain sparsely represented in major collections.
