Below the logo, a decorative arrangement of hibiscus flowers (Hibiscus syriacus, the national flower of Korea) occupies the lower portion of the field. Additional information

Issued to commemorate the 1986 Asian Games held in Seoul, this was South Korea's first major international multisport event as host nation — a dry run, deliberately, for the 1988 Seoul Olympics. The Bank of Korea produced a suite of commemorative silver issues for both events, and this piece belongs to the earlier, smaller series that attracted far less collector attention than the Olympic issues that followed.

Mintage was tightly controlled and distribution skewed heavily toward the domestic market.
