Kazakhstan's shift to polymer for this denomination was part of a broader regional trend, but the choice of Canadian Bank Note Company — a firm with deep experience in polymer substrate production — reflects a deliberate procurement decision rather than simple convenience. CBN has supplied polymer notes to several central Asian and post-Soviet issuers over the past two decades, and Kazakhstan has maintained a working relationship with Ottawa-based security printers since at least the mid-2000s.
