| Reverse description | Central device depicts a detailed architectural view of the Casa de la Aduana (Customs House) of Santa Marta, one of the oldest surviving colonial buildings in Colombia, rendered in fine relief with its characteristic two-storey colonnaded facade. Behind the building, a large solar disc rises in the field, evoking the historical and cultural significance of the city. The label CASA DE LA ADUANA / Santa Marta appears inscribed within the field adjacent to the building. The curved legend 500 años de la fundación de Santa Marta arcs prominently across the upper portion of the coin. The commemorative dates 1525 - 2025 are rendered in stylized script along the lower exergue, flanked by the decorative geometric border segments repeated from the obverse. |
