| Obverse description | The obverse bears a portrait vignette of Juan Bautista Alberdi — Argentine writer, journalist, philosopher, economist, diplomat, and statesman — set against a fine guilloche underprint. The denomination '20 000' and the issuing authority inscription appear in intaglio print, accompanied by the full title of the Banco Central de la República Argentina and the legend 'VEINTE MIL PESOS'. |

Argentina's decision to contract China Banknote Printing and Minting Corporation for this issue was a direct consequence of the country's chronic foreign-currency constraints — domestic printing capacity at Casa de Moneda was insufficient to keep pace with the denomination inflation that by 2024 had rendered earlier notes nearly worthless for everyday transactions. The 20,000 peso denomination itself is a marker of how completely the peso's purchasing power had collapsed in the preceding three years.
The security specification is notably thin for a high-denomination note — watermark and thread only, no color-shifting ink or other optically variable elements common to contemporary issues of comparable face value.
