| Obverse description | Unadorned right-facing effigy of King Juan Carlos I of Spain, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and facial features characteristic of the engraver Martinez Tornero's style. The portrait occupies the central field, with the legend JUAN CARLOS I REY DE ESPAÑA arcing along the upper periphery. The date 1995 appears in the lower field, flanked by two raised dots. The plain field surrounding the effigy contrasts with the deeply struck portrait, lending the design a clean, regal appearance consistent with Spanish Proof coinage of the period. |

| Reverse description | Central depiction of the Lady of Elche, a celebrated ancient Iberian polychrome stone bust dating to the 4th–5th century BC, rendered in fine relief. The figure is shown as a three-quarter bust facing slightly right, adorned with elaborate headdress, large circular disc earrings, and ornate necklaces, faithfully reproducing the iconography of this masterpiece of pre-Roman Iberian art. The Madrid Mint crowned monogram (M) appears to the left of the figure in the field. The legend CULTURA Y NATURALEZA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 20000 PTAS and two flanking dots are inscribed along the lower border. |
