SIEGEL DER STADT SIEGBURG
B. KÜHLEN M. GLADBACH
Reverse description Printed in deep green on cream paper with a wood-grain underprint, the reverse is dominated by a large central vignette reproducing a Byzantine textile motif: four stylised lions arranged in two mirrored pairs, their manes rendered in intricate geometric interlace recalling medieval Romanesque weaving. Flanking the vignette are vertical dotted borders with palmette ornaments at the corners. A lower text band identifies the source of the motif as a Byzantine fabric of 921–931 AD preserved in the St. Anno Shrine in Siegburg, with the denomination numeral '20000' centred below the main vignette.
