The P#87 20,000 Livres was introduced as an updated version of the existing note, distinguished primarily by a revised typeface and the addition of a barcode strip — modifications made to bring Lebanon's highest circulating denomination in line with contemporary machine-reading requirements at banks and exchange houses. Harrison and Sons, who had maintained a long relationship with Banque du Liban, handled the reprint from their London facility.
The "Printed: 30.04.1945" date in the catalog data is almost certainly a placeholder or data entry error — Harrison and Sons as a banknote printer did not begin their significant Middle Eastern contract work until well after that date, and the note's design generation is firmly early 2000s.
