| Reverse description | The reverse presents a three-quarter portrait of the celebrated Hungarian novelist Mór Jókai (1825–1904), depicted seated at a writing desk with his right hand resting upon it, wearing a double-breasted frock coat. His full beard and distinguished bearing are rendered with fine sculptural detail. To the upper left of the portrait, the dates 1825–1904 appear in the field, accompanied below by a facsimile of Jókai's cursive autograph signature. An ornate carved chair back is visible to the right of the figure, and a designer's mark appears at the lower left. The composition fills the entire flan in a naturalistic, portrait-medal style. |
