| Obverse description | Printed in black and red on white paper, the note is framed by a fine guilloche border with the repeated legend 'ZWANZIGMILLIONEN' running along all four margins. A large red vignette of a steam locomotive in three-quarter view occupies the centre, overlaid by bold Fraktur lettering reading 'Zwanzig Millionen Mark' and the issuer inscription 'Deutsche Reichsbahn' at top. To the lower left appears a circular seal of the Reichsverkehrsminister bearing the imperial eagle, with the date 'Berlin, den 18.
