| Obverse description | Notgeld (emergency money) issued by the City of Zweibrücken, printed on a brown rosette-pattern guilloche underprint. The main text panel, framed by a rectangular border, carries the denomination in large Gothic script at centre, with the city arms vignette above. A vertical left stub panel in brown letterpress repeats the denomination vertically and bears a red-printed serial number. The date 'Zweibrücken, den 14. August 1923' appears in the lower section, flanked by the manuscript signatures of the Stadtkämmerer and the Bürgermeister, below which a circular violet official stamp of the Verwaltung der Stadt Zweibrücken is applied. |
