| Obverse description | Printed in dark brown on cream paper, the note is framed by a fine guilloche border of interlocking chain ornament. The denomination 'Zwanzig Milliarden Mark' is set in large Gothic Fraktur blackletter script across the upper centre, with '20 Milliarden Mark' repeated in matching rotated lettering along the left vertical margin; a central block of Gothic-script text records the redemption obligation of the Eisenbahnhauptkasse Cassel, the issue date 'Cassel, den 24. Oktober 1923', and the issuing authority 'Reichsbahndirektion'. A circular official stamp bearing the Reichsadler is impressed to the left of two manuscript signatures, with the series letter and serial number printed in red at upper left and right respectively. |
