| Obverse description | Brown letterpress note with a geometric border running the full perimeter. The upper vignette presents two heraldic lions rampant flanking the Bremen coat of arms — a white key on a black shield — rendered in a bold Art Deco woodcut style against a hatched underprint. Below the vignette, the text 'GUTSCHEIN ÜBER' separates the heraldic panel from the large Gothic-script denomination '20 Milliarden Mark' occupying the centre of the note.
