| Aanvullende informatie |
The Kórnik Castle series entry belongs to a broader NBP program begun in the mid-1990s to issue Nordic gold 2-złoty collector pieces circulated at face value — an unusual arrangement that made them technically legal tender while being hoarded almost immediately upon release. Kórnik Castle, situated on a lake island south of Poznań, houses one of Poland's most significant private libraries, assembled largely by the Działyński and Zamoyski families across the 19th century and bequeathed to the Polish nation in 1924.
The 1998 mintage run for this type was 350,000 pieces.
